Virginia "Ginny" Mullen Obituary

Virginia “Ginny” Marie Mullen, age 70, resident of Oakdale, died on June 1, 2026.

Ginny worked at AHRC for over 40 years, and always proudly pointed out her work that was on display in stores. One of Ginny’s favorite memories at AHRC was the program’s fashion show. She waited years for her invitation and was ecstatic to get her chance to participate.

Ginny was always there to greet you with a smile when you pulled into the driveway at the family home. She also loved her “goodies,” candy snacks, etc….Ginny loved parties, she loved to dance and sought out a dance partner at every event. The thing that we will miss the most, is Ginny’s incredible smile and the way her face lit up when she greeted people who were visiting.

Ginny also spent 20 years snow birding with her parents, who she did everything with. She could always be seen riding her three wheeled bicycle around the neighborhood with them in Florida.

From Long Island to Florida, Ginny made an impression on everybody she met. She was often recognized by friends wherever she’d travel with her family.

Ginny enjoyed spending her time watching retro TV, sipping on piña coladas, playing putt putt, doing puzzles, shopping, and going to lunch. She also took her chores very seriously, making sure nobody took in the mail before she got to it.

Ginny was beloved by all her family. She is survived by her mother Virginia C. Mullen, her siblings; Joanne, Keith, Carolyn and her husband Mark, Marybeth and her husband Vinny, and Jimmy and his wife Samantha, and many nieces, nephews. and cousins. She is predeceased by her father, Arthur Mullen.

Family will receive visitors on Monday, June 8th, at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Montauk Highway West Sayville from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence the Martyr, RC Church, at 11:15 a.m. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to People’s Arc of Suffolk, formerly AHRC, in Ginny’s name would be appreciated.
