Timothy Murphy Obituary

Timothy J. Murphy, age 72, resident of Smithtown, LI for 44 years., was raised in the Forest City section of Wantagh, LI where he spent time playing a lot of sports including baseball and softball. Also spent summers working as a lifeguard at his beloved Forest City pool. His parents were Joyce Murphy and Charles Murphy. Timothy died June 20, 2026.

Timothy was a huge golf fan who also enjoyed playing the sport. Also was a huge fan of the Jets, the Giants, Yankees and Knicks. His son took him to the 2013 Masters golf tournament for his 60th birthday. Timothy was a great cook who loved baking his famous chocolate pudding Jello pie with pie crust. Also loved going to the beach, going out East for pumpkins, mums, corn on the cob, pies and the vineyards including Helen’s farm and Briermere farm with his family. Was an avid and great bocce ball player who played in a local league for a lot of years on the Bourbonaders team. Was a very generous person especially when it came to giving gifts. Loved Pepsi, Ralph’s Italian ices, Haagen Dazs ice cream, red Hawaiian punch and his family.

Timothy is survived by his son Timothy C. Murphy, his sister Cathy McLeod, his brothers Charles Murphy, Dennis Murphy, and Christopher Murphy, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends gathered for a memorial celebration of Timothy’s life at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home.
