Timothy Kelly, 71, of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on December 17th, 2025, after a battle with lung cancer. A beloved father, husband, and uncle, he is survived by his wife, Pamela, daughter, Brianna, and his siblings Lorraine, Nancy, and Larry.
Tim left home at 16 to join the Marines during the Vietnam Era, and later, the Army, where he served as Military Police, and was honorably discharged from both services. Those who knew Tim know that he lived many lives, but his most recent was as a professor at Dowling College for over 20 years, where he earned his Doctorate. After its closure, he taught at Five Towns College before retiring.
Tim had many passions, namely of which were music, gardening, photography, and caring for animals. Whether they were squirrels, dogs, or cats, he felt it was his duty to feed and protect them. Tim was well-loved and will be remembered for his enormous personality and presence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Long Island Cat Kitten Solution and the Friends of Ollie, to support the trap, neuter, release, and rehoming of feral and abandoned cats.
