Thomas J. Healy, 90, a resident of Oakdale since 1971, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Raised in Queens, Tom graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School. He served in the US Army and then attended Baruch College on the GI Bill. Tom joined the NYPD in 1957 where he worked for more than 35 years before retiring as a 1st Grade Detective with Queens Homicide.
Mr. Healy is survived by his son, Gerard of Northport, his daughter Meghan and her husband John of Blue Point, as well as his four grandchildren, EmmaGrace, Ella, Liam and Jack. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor in 2022 and by his son Thomas in 2018.
Friends and relatives will gather 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 23rd at 11 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia. A private cremation will follow.
