Teresa M. Lotito, 95, of Sayville, LI, died on Monday, June 1, 2020. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, as a young girl she moved with her parents and brother to Queens, New York where she excelled in school and received a scholarship to Hunter College. She was a longtime educator, and a scholar of bioethics who earned two masters degrees and taught at Dowling College. Teresa has been a resident of Sayville for more than fifty years and during that time she was a devoted member of her community. She served tirelessly as a volunteer and fundraiser for the American Heart Association, and cherished her time serving as a eucharistic minister and singing in the choir at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church of Sayville. Above all, she was a dedicated wife and mother.
Mrs. Lotito is survived by her devoted husband, Louis, her four loving children, Teresa Perlstein (Bill) of Delaware, James Lotito (Rose) of Michigan, Mark Lotito (Valerie) of Brooklyn and Lisa Lotito King (Jess) of Virginia, her six grandchildren, David, Jonathan, Jessica, Phillip, Luca, and Giovanni, as well as two great-grand children, Claire and Maxwell.
Due to the current health crisis, arrangements were private. A more public celebration of Mrs. Lotito’s life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Homes.
