Stephen M. Lewis

Steve Lewis was born on June 18,1954 to parents Stephen and Mary Lewis. He grew up in Sayville, NY, along with his sisters Ellen and Patricia. He attended both Suffolk County Community College and Stony Brook University.  He found his love of working with computers while working for Periphonics and later founded his own company, Voice Technology Solutions, Inc. Steve was an innovator in voice response computer systems and contracted with many large national and international companies. What he did was beyond most people’s comprehension, but what he did, he did very well. Steve could find a solution to just about any problem at work and around the house.  He often came up with ideas for products that would solve a problem and recently acted on one of his ideas. He was able to patent his idea which is now being sold across the country.

Steve loved taking care of his home and especially caring for the yard and showing off his love for flowering pots during the summer months. Taking after his father, he was a skilled craftsman and woodworker, with a great appreciation for details and the beauty of the wood he worked with. Steve was so proud of his children, Maia and Tobias, as he watched them grow to be kind and successful adults. He was so proud and excited to welcome his first grandson Beren to the world this past year. He was truly happy that his children found the people they chose to marry and was excited for their future.

Despite his health issues in recent years, he took joy in supporting his wife Karen’s travel desires and sharing the joys of her adventures.  He loved talking with people and hearing their stories. Whether you were his painter, plumber, or landscaper, by the time you left his home, you would be his friend.  Steve was generous beyond measure and will be greatly missed.

Memorial Visitation:  Friday, May 9th  4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Montauk Hwy., West Sayville, NY 11796

Word of Remembrance:  Friday, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
