Shirley Anne Slavik

Shirley Anne Slavik, beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother and long time Sayville resident passed away on Feb 19, 2021 at the age of 84.  Shirley was born in Astoria, Queens and raised in East Islip, NY.  Shirley married the love of her life William in 1955.  Shirley and her husband moved to Sayville in 1963 to raise their 5 children.  Shirley is predeceased by her son William John Jr in 1979 and her husband William John Sr in 1986.  
 

Shirley was an active member of St Ann's  Episcopal Church.  Serving  as the secretary under Rev Schwartz, a Sunday school teacher for 3-4 year olds,  acolyte, usher, layreader & chalice administer.  Shirley also served on the alter guild & Christmas fair committee.  Shirley loved her church & church family, traveling twice to Israel with them. 
 

Shirley loved her family, friends, reading & traveling.  Shirley will be remembered for her warm loving heart, her big welcoming smile and most of all her hugs.  Shirley loved to hug.
 

Shirley is survived by her daughter Wendy  son-in-law Rick grandson Richard & granddaughter/goddaughter Ashley Anne.
 

Shirley is also survived by daughter Sharon, sons Michael & Brian, 4 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren and her sister Barbara.
