Sheila Stewart Obituary

Sheila M. Stewart, 76, a resident of East Islip, LI since 1977, passed peacefully on January 19, 2023.  Born in England, Sheila was a war baby and came to the US as an infant on the Queen Mary.  She was raised in Seaford and became a Registered Nurse, working in several institutions across Long Island, most recently at the Knox School in St. James.

 Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, Michael, her six children, Jacqueline Comer, Theresa Calobrisi (Aldo), William Comer (Tina), Bobby Comer (Andrea), Dawn Stewart-Farkas (Steve) and Lisa Scheibe (Kevin), her grandchildren, Ashley (William), Samantha, Michael, Brooke, Luca, Kevin, Ella, Emmett and Elena, as well as her sister, Sharon Catalanotto (Frank) and her siblings by marriage, Emil Stewart (Pam), Joanne DeScetto (Nicholas) and Mark Stewart (Adrienne).  She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Katy Rose, her parents, Jack & Sheila Paras, and by her inlaws, John & Marianne Stewart. 

Friends and relatives will gather on Monday, January 23rd, 2-4-30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 24th at 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary’s RC Church in East Islip.
