Sharyn Lynn Godziszewski , 73 yrs of age, was born in Amityville, Long Island New York to Carl Schaefer and Virginia (Perkins) Schaefer. Sharyn is survived by her beloved husband, of 37 years, Edward Godziszewski; Step- son Edward Godziszewski Jr, Step-Grandchildren Christopher Godziszewski and Kendra
Godziszewski, Sisters Lorelei (Schaefer) Grimes and Kimberly (Schaefer) Calafiore; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sharyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Virginia Schaefer; brother Robert Schaefer.
Sharyn attended beauty school, while she was in high school, and attained her Beautician's license upon graduating from Connetquot High School; and worked as a hair stylist for 5 years. Sharyn changed career paths working for a phone company for 26 years, starting as a telephone operator and transitioning to an administrative position. Sharyn semi- retired working part time for Boces school districts transportation program for 16 years.
Sharyn engaged in many interests/activities throughout her life. For those who knew her well, shopping was one of Sharyn's favorite things to do. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her pets, Sharyn loved to sing and dance from the time she was a little girl and throughout her adult years. She was very photogenic and could strike a pose. One of Sharyn's favorite places to go was the beach. During her younger years, she would go daily, in the mornings, before she started her work shift. In her later years, Sharyn enjoyed sitting on the deck , feeling the warmth of the Sun surrounded by her beautiful flowers.
Sharyn had gorgeous light blue eyes, the color of a beautiful summer sky and a bright smile that could light up a room. Sharyn was the happiest when she was in the company of her family. She had impeccable timing responding to her loving husband's quick- witted humor, making all those laugh who would be in their presence.
Sharyn you will be sorely missed but will live on in our hearts and in our memories.
