It is with a very heavy heart, the Chopping and Abramski family is announcing the passing of Roy Edward Chopping IV, age 26 years old, of Coronado, California formally of Seattle, Washington, East Moriches, and Bayport-Blue Point, New York. He passed away with strength and dignity.
Roy was very Patriotic and came from a long line of servicemen. A Navy man who embodied duty honor and courage throughout his 8 years of service. Growing up in a close-knit family, Roy was surrounded by music from an early age. Both his parents nurtured his passion for the art. He had leading rolls in every school play, he could entertain as well as he could sing and play guitar. They encouraged him which led him to master the guitar, piano, and vocals. From the moment he picked up the guitar, it was clear that music would be an integral part of his identity. Roy was a food lover, he would savor every bite making it last as long as possible, leftovers didn’t stand a chance.
At the age of 18, Roy joined the Navy, driven by a strong sense of duty to God and his country. He served with distinction, earning respect from his fellow servicemen and women. His dedication to service was fueled not only by patriotism but also the desire to inspire others through his actions. He often used music as a way to uplift his shipmates and family during tough times, sharing his angelic voice whenever there was a need for comfort.
The joy of becoming a father to his beloved daughter, Robin, was the highlight of Roy’s life. He cherished every moment spent with her, teaching her about music and instilling in her values of kindness and hard work. Their bond was evident in the countless stories shared, where laughter and music filled the home. Robin brought him immense joy, and his love for her was boundless.
Friends and family describe Roy as the most caring person anyone could ever meet. His kindness extended to everyone he encountered; his genuine smile and warm heart made him a friend to many. He had an extraordinary ability to uplift those around him, often with a heartfelt song or a simple act of kindness. His music that he wrote echoed his compassion, as he wrote songs to celebrate love, hope, and resilience.
Though Roy’s time with us was far too short, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His dedication to his country, family, music, and, most importantly, his daughter are testaments to a life well-lived. He taught those around him the importance of love and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Roy is survived by his loving parents Roy Chopping III, Jennifer Abramski, stepmother Nicole Arrigo Chopping, and daughter Robin Marie Chopping. He is also survived by his grandparents Roy and Ingrid Chopping, sister Ava Chopping and stepbrother Brenan Mulhare
As we remember Roy Edward Chopping IV, celebrate his spirit, the music he created, and the love he shared. In our memories, he will forever be an angel, watching over us as he continues to inspire us through his songs and love.
