Rosaline Desiata

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Rosaline Simms - Desiata, Age 93.  Born in Maspeth NY, Resident of West Islip, NY, Fort Myers, Fla, and recently, Sayville, NY.  Rosaline went to heaven on September 20th, 2023, 14 days shy of her 94thbirthday.

Rosaline is survived by her daughters JoAnn and Linda, Son in laws; John and Tim, Grandchildren; Ryan (Tiffany), Jamie (Michael), Carolyn (Daniel), Lisa (James), Tim Jr (Eva). and Great Grandchildren Ryan Joseph, Nicole (Kris), Luca, Jack, CeCe, Anaya, Viola, Alle, Leann, Christian, Jake, Tim IV (Amanda), Nina, Christina and survived by her sister Helen. Rosaline will join in heaven her beloved husband, Joseph,  Brothers: Stanley, John, Andrew and Sisters: Mary Anne and Dolores, along with her parents Mary and Andrew.

Rosaline, a retired nurse from Good Samaritan Hospital, lived a life of helping and nurturing everything and everyone around her.  In her words, “I love to love”, and that’s how she led her life.  She had her love for her lord, Jesus Christ, all her family, and everyone she encountered.  There wasn’t a moment where she wasn’t smiling or laughing.  Rosaline loved music, and specifically her polka music.  Her son-in-law Tim, would always find time to play it for her due to his vast music collection.  John would always compete with Rosaline to see who could complete the jumble in the paper first, whether he was in NY or Fla.  JoAnn and Linda did EVERYTHING for their mother, as Rosaline had done for them.  Loving and nurturing was a culture and the main pillar of Rosaline’s family, and her family will continue to carry on that tradition in her memory.

Funeral Mass- Monday September 25, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church, Blue Point

Interment- Pinelawn Memorial Park
