"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Everett Marshall Nebocat of East Islip, NY. Rodney was born on December 29, 1929 in Rockville Centre, NY. He died at age 95 on November 6, 2025. Rodney passed away peacefully, at home. He is survived by his three nephews and niece, Geoffrey, Rodney (Christine), Caroline (Ryan), and Eugene. His life was full of family with his 10 great nephews and nieces, (Karina, Colton, Shellby, Addyson, Libby, Elizabeth, Leila, Everett, Edward, Gabriella).
Rodney was a proud graduate of Stuyvesant High School and later earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College, The City University of New York, in 1957.
He served as a Seaman and went on to spend over 20 years working in New York City at McCann Erickson, where he was known for his dedication and professionalism.
Rodney’s many passions including a lifelong love of trains, reading, cooking, and celebrating Danish customs. A frequent visitor to the library, he found joy in through magazines and newspapers.
As the co-founder and president of the local chapter of the European Train Enthusiasts club, Rodney built lasting friendships and created a welcoming space for fellow enthusiasts. He was also an avid reader and walker who took pride in learning, exploring, and connecting with people.
Rodney will be remembered for his humor, wit, wisdom, and wealth of historical knowledge of various topics.
Public Visiting hours are Monday, November, 10, 2025 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, at Raynor D’Andrea, West Sayville with a service at 11:30 am. Rodney will be reunited with his mother Inger, Father Felix, sister, Leontine, and brother Geoffrey. He will be laid to rest at the Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery."
Visitation- Monday November 10, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon at our West Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St.
Chapel Service- Monday November 10, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at our West Sayville Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St.
Interment- Pinelawn Memorial Park
