Richard F. Harris, Sr.

Richard F. Harris, Sr.; age 71, resident of Sayville, passed away on September 19, 2022.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Eileen, his daughter Kelly Palladino and her husband Michael, his son Rich, Jr. and his wife Sofia, his grandson Jackson and grand-dogs; Molly, Westley and Buttercup and his siblings; John Harris, Ellen Stout and her husband James.

Rich was born in Manhattan, NY. He worked for many years as a wire lather in the Local 46 Union, and spent the remainder of his career as a Safety Engineer.  He loved watching historical documentaries, Jeopardy!, and his favorite movie was “The Natural”.

He often remarked that his wife Eileen was “his best friend”, and they loved spending weekends together at Foxwoods Casino. 

He was the rock of his family, the calm in the eye of any storm. He was incredibly selfless, generous to a fault, and his children say he always said “yes” when Mom said  “no”.

Family will receive visitors on Friday, September 23rd 4 – 8 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Septmeber 24th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church, Sayville followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
