Rene Joseph Chevalley, 61, a lifelong resident of the Bayport-Blue Point area and a graduate of Bayport-Blue Point High School, died on May 27, 2025. Rene worked for more than forty years as a plumber on Long Island and on Fire Island. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and cook.
Rene is survived by his loving parents, Rene and Catherine of Bayport, his two daughters, Heather Chevalley and her wife Adrienne of Ballston Spa, NY and Raechel Dysart and her husband Peter of Vermont, his five grandchildren, Miles, Oliver, Cash, Sosey and Waylon, as well as his sister, Michelle Hedge and her husband Steven of Australia, his sister-in-law, Lisa Chevalley of Patchogue, and his nieces and nephews, Gabrielle, Jacob, Holly, Ryder and Cooper. Rene was predeceased by his brother, Gregory in 2015.
Friends and relatives will gather on Friday, June 6th, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point.
