Ralph "Micky" McDowall

Ralph “Micky” McDowall, age 87, resident of Sayville, formerly of Brookhaven, LI., died on March 21, 2023. Micky proudly served his community for 55 years as a volunteer member of the Brookhaven Fire Department. He served as Chief of the department in 1977-78 and again in 1984-85. He was a Life Member. Micky loved his family. He was always known for a quick joke. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Micky is survived by his children, Bonnie Boothe and her husband Dan, Mary Ellen Veitch, Ralph McDowall, Jr., Alice Dahms and her husband Dennis, his grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Heather, Meghan, Matthew, Sarah, Timothy, Christie, Michelle, Julian, Victoria, William and his thirteen great grandchildren, his companion, Barbara Murgatroyd. Micky was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth.

Family received visitors on Sunday, March 26th at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home. A Firematic service took place in the evening. A church service was held on Monday, March 27th at St. Ann’s Epsicopal Church, Sayville. Followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
