Born in the UK, Patrick “Alex” was raised in the north of England by a strong and independent woman to be the ambitious and adventurous man he became. He embraced education and applied his natural aptitude to excel in any subject he directed his energy towards, ultimately developing an extensive general knowledge that he loved to share with others. He traveled the world for business and pleasure, mastering the sports of skiing, both on snow and water, hand-gliding, cycling and swimming en-route. He was an accomplished private pilot and used this skill to travel with his family around the world, sharing his love of adventure with his two daughters, Sarah and Michelle. He finally settled in the USA, with his beloved wife Karen, building a comfortable life and successful business in Bayport. He was dedicated, articulate and dynamic in business, always rising to any challenge that was presented to him. Whilst always assertive, he was caring and compassionate to those who needed support or shelter, he would go out of his way to help someone and structure a deal just to suit their needs. His compassion didn’t stop at people, he had a ferocious love for animals and spent his life with multiple canine companions by his side. More than once he unexpectedly came home with a new furry friend that needed a good home! Throughout his life, he let his vibrant and charismatic personality shine at every opportunity. He loved regaling people with tales of his adventures, and would likely be found at the centre of a party, entertaining the crowd. The sounds of raucous laughter could always be heard when he was in the room. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor, who was loved, admired and treasured by those who knew him. To have him in your life meant you were exceptionally lucky. The loss of Patrick is deep and profound, but creates an opportunity to gather together in joyfulness and celebrate the man who lived his life to the absolute fullest, a once in a lifetime inspiration to us all.
As Patrick was not a man who loved flowers, but he did love helping others, in lieu of flowers we would ask for anyone able to donate to do so to one of the following charities in his memory.
