Patricia Spinella, known lovingly as Pat, was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman of unwavering strength, faith, and a deep love for her family, her friends, and her community. Pat's life was a testament to her strong work ethic, and she gave every role she took on with her heart and soul.
Her journey began at Chase Manhattan Bank, where she worked in bonds, and later, she channeled her dedication into a variety of jobs, including as a cashier at Nescot's Drug Store. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to become a medical assistant, and she found great fulfillment working at Dr. Mowdey's Veterinary Hospital. It was there that her love for animals grew, with a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs-Dino, Snoopy, Pepper Girl, and April.
Pat was a master of the kitchen, where she poured love into every dish she created. Her talents as a bread baker, pastry chef, and dessert connoisseur were unmatched. Her legendary mile-high lasagna and apple pie with homemade crust will live on in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of tasting them. Pat didn't keep her gifts to herself-she shared them with others, teaching cooking skills to adult education students who were blessed to learn from such a passionate and patient teacher.
Her love for crafts and plants led her to a special place at Flower Time, later known as Frank's Nursery and Craft. Here, she thrived, creating delicate bows, painting intricate doll faces, and making beautiful quilts and blankets. Pat's love of horticulture was contagious-she loved nothing more than working in the garden, her hands in the dirt, sharing her knowledge and joy of growing things with anyone who would listen.
As a housekeeper, Pat was a force of nature. Her white tornado approach to maintaining a home was admired and followed by her daughters. But it wasn't just her house that she fiercely protected-Pat was a ferocious "momma bear" when it came to her children. She would fiercely defend them, and no one would dare harm a hair on their heads without facing her protective wrath.
Pat's love for her family was immeasurable. Her deepest desire was to have children and raise them, and she did so with grace and strength. From diapers to preschool, graduations to weddings, Pat was always there. She was a devoted grandmother, passing down her talents, wisdom, and love to her grandchildren, ensuring that her legacy of love and service would continue for generations to come.
Pat was a woman of deep Christian faith. She loved God's word and His people, using her many talents to serve her church. Whether it was teaching children on Sunday nights, cleaning the church before it had a cleaning service, or hosting fellowship dinners and meetings at her home, she was always there. Pat's devotion to her faith also extended to her role as a prayer warrior-she prayed for her children and loved ones, guiding them through trials and into lives full of love and prosperity. She believed wholeheartedly that "all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).
Pat's trust in God was unwavering. She never feared death, knowing that God had prepared a place for her. She passed from this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, just three weeks before her 89th birthday.
Patricia Spinella was a tower of love, a force to be reckoned with, and a woman who will be deeply missed. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy will continue in the lives of those she loved so dearly.
