Patricia Lynn Hains

Patricia Lynn Hains, age 74, resident of Sayville, died peacefully with her children by her side on December 15, 2025. Patricia dedicated 35 years to the Connetquot School District serving as a bus driver. Once she retired in 2014, she spent her days caring for her family, gardening, and coupon shopping at Kohl’s. Patricia’s greatest gifts in life were her sons and her grandchildren, and she took such great pride in all their accomplishments. The strength she has presented throughout her life is admirable and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Patricia is survived by her sons Joseph and his wife Shannon and Michael, her grandchildren Kielley, Gunnison and Quinn, her siblings Terry Hruby and husband John, James Murtha, Thomas Murtha and Wife Kathy, and Bob Murtha. Patricia was predeceased by her husband Michael and brother William Murtha.

Family will receive visitors Friday, December 19th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home located at 245 Montauk Hwy, West Sayville NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 20th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church located at 240 Main Street in Sayville. Private cremation to follow.
