Pat was born in Willow Grove, PA and moved to Holbrook to live with her adoptive parents, Lillian and Arthur Wehrenberg in 1950. There she attended Sayville schools and graduated in 1958. She then attended SUNY Cortland and got a bachelor’s degree in education. She graduated and married Dick Carbocci in 1962, and started teaching elementary school in Sachem School District. In 1965, she and Dick built the home that they would live in for the rest of their lives. She retired in 1995, after 33 years in education and traveled the world, vacationed winters in Florida and spent time with her grandchildren. Pat was a life member of the Holbrook Fire Department’s ambulance squad and an emergency medical technician. She was very involved in her church, sang in the choir and was in a gospel band that released two albums in the late 70’s. Pat was the embodiement of Christian care and compassion for so many. She was the living breathing example of a truly Christ-centered Christian, leading by example, rather than words.
She is survived by her brother Wayne Martin, son Pete Carbocci, daughter Gail Baird and her 4 grandchildren, Sara, Shelby, Emily and Lily.
Patricia's family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 12 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea 245 Montauk Highway West Sayville. A firematic service will take place at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
