Patricia A. Alimena

Patricia Alimena, 88 a long-time resident of Sayville and Vero Beach Florida, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2020.

Patricia (nee Kane) Alimena was born on September 16, 1931 in Hudson NY and moved to Sayville shortly after and attended Sayville Schools graduating from SHS in 1949.                           

She was a devoted wife and mother. At the age of 46 she went back to college attending Stony Brook University earning degrees in Psychology and Social Work. She even took a course at Oxford University in England. She worked as a Psychiatric Social Worker at Skills Unlimited in Oakdale until her retirement in 1995.

In 2005 Patricia and her husband Barry settled in Coastal Florida. She embraced the warmth of Florida and enjoyed all that Sebastian Inlet and Vero Beach had to offer. They relocated back to Sayville in 2019 to be closer to family. In her younger years she loved the beach and to travel and together with her husband of 66 years travelled to countries all over the world. She was an avid reader and bargain hunter. She loved crossword puzzles and Bingo in her later years and enjoyed hearing about her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children Barry (Luann), Brian (Kathy), and Mary Jean (Kathy). Patricia was a proud Grandmother to Maridith, Robert (Lindsay), Martine (Torey), Caleb and Abigail and Great Grandmother to Carmen Capri and Casey Patrick. She was predeceased by her loving husband Barry in June 2019. 

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic services will be private and celebration of Patricia’s life will be held at a later date.
