Natalie Weissman was born in Manhattan November 16, 1919 and raised in the Bronx.
She met and married her husband Bill in 1941. They became one of the original homeowners of a house in Levittown in 1950, where they raised their 2 children Alice and John.
Natalie returned to school as an adult and graduated from Hofstra College with a degree in Art Education in 1961. She taught art at Old Country Road School in Hicksville for 16 years.
The Weissman family made 2 cross country camping trips in the 1950’s visiting many National Parks along the way.
Later, Natalie and Bill began traveling extensively around the world. She continued her worldwide travels after Bill passed away in 1984 and visited many exciting far-flung destinations, including Antarctica, into her 90’s.
Natalie was an inspiration in many ways – as a talented artist, a daring traveler, a life long learner, and mostly as a loving and beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
She supported several charities including Doctors Without Borders, Smile Train, and The Nature Conservancy.
