Muriel G. Seybel

Muriel G. Seybel, 94, a resident of Sayville, New York for nearly forty years, died on June 9, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Born and raised in Freeport, Muriel worked in her youth as a swimsuit model and as a synchronized swimmer at the Jones Beach Amphitheatre.  She was a voracious reader and loved to cook.

Muriel was predeceased by the two loves of her life, Herbert Diener in 1966 and by Roger Seybel in 2002 as well as by a step-son, Kenny Seybel.  She is survived by her six children, Beth Ann Walton-Gosa of Florida, Catherine Diener Farrell of and her husband Neal Westhampton, Deirdre Paolella and her husband DJ of West Sayville, Christine Canlon of West Sayville, Eric of Alexandria Bay, NY and William and his wife Lauren of New Hampshire, as well as two step-sons, Andrew and Eric Seybel, her nineteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville and, as per Muriel’s wishes, all services were private.
