Monica A. LoVece

Monica A. LoVece, 66, a longtime resident of Bayport, LI, passed suddenly on Sunday, December 11, 2022.  A lifelong resident of Long Island, Monica was raised in Dix Hills and graduated from Dix Hills High School.  She went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at Dowling College and spent time as a Foreign Exchange student in Spain.  Ms. LoVece was a beloved Spanish teacher at Center Moriches High School for more than thirty years.

Monica is survived by her son, Tyler and his fiancé Lucy of Patchogue, three grandchildren, Kayleigh, Hunter and Mina, her nephew, Peter Hoelzle, who she raised like a son, as well as two daughters-in-law, Karin Bergerson and Alyssa Jackson.  She was predeceased by her son Mark in 2021.  Monica will be sorely missed by her entire family and countless friends.

Friends and relatives will gather for a celebration of Monica’s life on Friday, December 16th, 6-9 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in Bayport where a religious service will be held at 8 p.m.
