Michael Merschoff, 70, of Blue Point, New York, passed away on February 2, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1955, and was the beloved son of the late John and Mary Merschoff.
Michael was a devoted father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer King and her husband Nathaniel, and Katie Reilly and her husband Christopher. He was a loving “Papa” to his grandchildren Bailee, Ryan, Scarlett, Holden, and Bryson, who brought him endless joy.
He was proceeded in death by his brother John, survived by his sisters, Eileen and Joanne, who shared a lifetime of memories and love with him.
Michael had a deep love for the beach and could often be found near the water, enjoying the simple things in life. He loved having a drink with friends, telling stories, and making people laugh. Known by everyone as someone who could fix anything, Papa Mersch was always the first to show up when someone needed help — and he would do anything for anyone without hesitation.
Above all, Michael will be remembered for his big heart, his generosity, and the way he made people feel cared for just by being himself. He leaves behind a family who adored him and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
Michael’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
