Melinda Herman

Melinda Herman, aka “Min” and “Big Gma”, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022, at the age of 78. Melinda was born in Sayville on October 9, 1943 to Charles and Jean Tichy. She had an insatiable sweet tooth that matched her penchant for baking treats like homemade devil dogs, linzer tarts, rugelach, and themed birthday cakes. When Melinda wasn’t baking or watching cooking shows, she could be found by the slot machines or brewing up an anti-wrinkle cream. She was predeceased by her husband Ned of 45 years; sister Gloria Kottman, and brothers Charles Tichy and Jed Cornell. Melinda is survived by her two daughters Michelle Fucarino of Bayport, Cari Ford and her husband Ron of North Carolina; her four grandchildren Thomas Fucarino,Gabrielle Fucarino, Sara Dolce, Michael Dolce; her sister Charlene Schneeberg; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 5th at 11:00am at New Montifiore Cemetery, West Babylon.Graveside Service:  Friday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m. at New Montifiore Cemetery 1180 Wellwood Avenue West Babylon
