Megan Lynn Waters

Megan Lynn Waters, 52, a resident of Bayport for more than 25 years, passed away on October 29, 2025.  Raised in Bay Shore, Megan graduated from Brentwood High School in 1991. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Binghamton University and later her Professional certificate in Cytotechnology at NYU.  Megan worked for several years in the medical field at Quest Diagostics. More recently, she opened and operated Mia’s Ice Cream Kitchen in Centereach, along with her fiance, Rich Lombardi, which she was very proud of. She was a proud mom whose love was endless and dedication to her children and puppy, Posh, was unwavering. Attending every sports event brought out so much joy in her and her contagious smile. 

Megan is survived by her two children, Madison and Brendan, her fiance, Rich Lombardi, Rich’s daughter, Mia, her parents, Raymond and Margaret Kopeck of Bayport, her brother, Chris Kopeck and his wife Stacey of Missouri, as well as her former husband, Dennis Waters and his wife Sandra Ghisays. 

Friends and relatives will gather for a Funeral Mass on Monday, November 3rd at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point, with the opportunity to visit the family at 10am. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Megan’s memory to The Mary Ann Tully Hospice Inn - Hospice Care Network, are appreciated. They took such great care of Megan and her family during their hardest times.
