Mary Lou Matthews, a resident of Calabash, North Carolina, passed away on November 21, 2018. Mary Lou and her family previously lived in Sayville then moved to Bayport where they resided for 27 years. Mary Lou was a registered nurse and member of Bayport Homemakers and the Riverhead Moose Lodge. She was active in several churches including St. Lawrence in Sayville, Our Lady of Snow in Blue Point, St. Isidore’s in Riverhead, and St. Brendan’s in Calabash, NC.

She was the beloved wife of the late James F Matthews Jr. She is survived by her children James III, and his wife Nancy, Edward, Mary Theresa Giammanco, and her spouse Robert, Maureen Matthews, and Margaret Collins, and her spouse, Shannon, and her grandchildren Carlie Rose, Jenna Elizabeth, Michael, John, Paul, Sean, and Colin.
