Marvin B. Chain

Marvin B. Chain, of Patchogue, passed away on December 8, 2024. Marvin was born on January 9, 1934 to George and Sadelle Chain in New Haven Connecticut. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University and then from Harvard University. He began his education career employed at Platt High School in Meridian Connecticut as a teacher, the district supervisor, and Assistant Principal. He continued his career as the District Supervisor of Business Education in Poway California and San Diego, California. He eventually found his way to Long Island and was employed with the Half Hollow School District in Dix Hills, as a teacher, District Supervisor and Assistant Principal at the Candlewood Middle School. He retired from his education career in 1996.

He is survived by his sister Jean Silverstein, and his brothers William and Robert, all living in Connecticut. Marvin is predeceased by his wife Mona, daughter Jaclyn, brother Richard, and sister Marilyn.
