Marilynn Fitzgerald, age 73, longtime resident of Bayport, NY, passed away on July 5, 2025.
Marilynn was born and raised in Brooklyn and moved to Bayport in 1984, where she lovingly raised her two sons. She was the proud owner of Consider the Lillies, an antique store in Bayport, and had a lifelong passion for collecting beautiful and storied objects.
She adored spending time with her grandchildren — taking them to Brooklyn to eat at Teresa’s, walk the old neighborhood on Tehama Street, visit Coney Island, stroll the beaches, or drive along the bay feeding seagulls. She was known for her love of storytelling, especially tales of angels, her playful sense of humor, and the joy she found in games and laughter.
Marilynn held a deep and personal spiritual faith, which she expressed through her kindness, wonder, and love for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Peter and Daniel Fitzgerald (and his wife, Allyson); her daughter-in-law, Jessica Austenfeld; her beloved grandchildren, Gavin, Gillian, Teagen, Brenden, and Jocelyn Fitzgerald; her brothers, Peter Broy (and his wife, Milette) and Anthony Broy; her sister, Donna Hufford; her nieces, Kathy and Jenny Broy, Megan Hufford; and her nephew, Daniel Broy.
Arrangements entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home.
Graveside service to be held Tuesday, July 8th at 11:00 a.m.
