Luis F. Velazquez

Luis F. Velazquez, age 56, resident of Sayville, LI., died on November 21, 2025. Luis was a lifetime educator and had a passion for helping young people find and explore their passions. He was a fisherman and lover of animals.

Luis is survived by his wife Irene of 33 years, his sons Sean and his wife Melissa Hunter, James, and Brian, his mother Socorra Velazquez, his siblings Christopher Velazquez and his wife Angel, Christina Sordyl and her husband Stefan. He was predeceased by his father Luis F. Velazquez.

Family will receive visitors Monday, November 24th 4 – 8 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 25th 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church 240 W. Main St. Sayville. Cremation private.
