Lou Ragosta, age 92, resident of Oakdale died on October 4, 2025. Lou served as an active reservist in the USMC for 33 years, retiring with the rank of Bird Colonel. In addition to his military service, he dedicated his professional life to education, as the principal of William Rall Elementary school in Lindenhurst.
Lou is survived by his wife Amelia, his daughters Lori Ragosta-Ericson and her husband Phil and Christine Laurinavicius and her husband Thomas, and his grandson Jack Thomas Laurinavicius.
Family will receive visitors on Monday, October 6 from 2 – 4:30 p.m. & 7 – 9:30 p.m at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A funeral mass will be held at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
