Lorraine F. Kneessy

Lorraine F. Kneessy passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 85.  A longtime resident of Babylon, New York, she lived in the community for nearly 60 years after growing up in Queens.  She dedicated many years of service as a cook for the West Babylon School District.  Lorraine was deeply involved with St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Babylon, where she actively volunteered at the church’s thrift shop and served as a member of the Catholic Daughters organization.  She spent her final two years at Brightview Senior Living in Sayville, where she made many wonderful friends.

Mrs. Kneessy was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, John.  She is survived by her four children, John and his wife Kathy of Bayport, Lynn Sagl and her husband Jim of West Islip, Kenneth and his wife Lori of St. James and Lori Cannetti and her husband Roy of Sayville, as well as her eleven grandchildren, Nicole, JJ, John, Mikey, Stephanie, Danny, Lauren, Emma, Michael, Nicholas and CJ, and her two great-grandchildren, Amelia and Salvatore.

Friends and relatives will gather on Wednesday, November 13th, 7-9:30 p.m. and Thursday, November 14th, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 15th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Babylon and interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
