Muriel P. Yablonski, 82, of Bayport LI, died on November 10, 2022. Muriel was born in Queens, NY and moved to Blue Point, NY in her teenage years. That is where she met her husband Leon and settled in Bayport until her death. Muriel was an award-winning floral designer and retired from her craft in 2005 although would still design arrangements for Holidays, family and friends out of her home. She enjoyed travelling, the outdoors, boating, landscaping the gardens around their home and was a member of the Bayport Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Leon J. Yablonski, 87, of Bayport, LI, died on November 21, 2021. A lifelong resident of Bayport, Leon was the owner/operator of Yablonski’s Greenhouses in Bayport and was retired Maintenance Supervisor of MacArthur Airport. He was a lifelong member of the Bayport Fire Department. He enjoyed travelling, the outdoors and was an avid boater, fisherman and hunter. He was a life member of the Peconic River Sportsman’s Club. He also enjoyed carving wildlife and won many awards for his work.
Leon and Muriel are survived by their 2 sons, Stephen and his wife Mary and Raymond of Westchester, two grandchildren Kelley Candela and her husband Nicholas of Miller Place and Stephen Yablonski and his wife Jennifer of Rocky Point and 2 Great Granddaughters Cecilia Grace Candela and Hayleigh Elizabeth Yablonski
Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Homes. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on November 22, 2022, at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church, 175 Blue Point Ave, Blue Point, NY 11715. Internment of their cremains to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 NY-112, Coram, NY 11727. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sister’s of Saint Joseph in Brentwood, NY.
