Lee C. Frey

Lee Case Frey, age 80, longtime resident of Sayville, LI., died on August 28, 2023.   Lee graduated from Sayville High School in 1961 and attended Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.  Lee grew up on Fire Island, both in Cherry Grove as a child and Fire Island Pines for over 60 years. She co-founded Pines Animal Welfare Society, Inc., which is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that has been saving abandoned cats, dogs, and wildlife since 1984.  This was Lee’s greatest love and passion. Lee was also involved with the Sayville Village Improvement Society where she served as the Chairman of the Green Thumb Committee, in the 70’s and 80’s.

Lee is survived by her husband, Richard of 60 years; her daughter, Dana Swift and husband, Scott, of Bellport; and her grandchildren Matthew and Megan. She was predeceased by her son, Richard. 

Family will receive visitors on Friday, September 8th,  from 4:00 – 8:00PM at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, located at 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville. Cremation services will be private.
