Laney Jace McGowan

Laney Jace McGowan, 9, of Sayville, NY, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with Dravet Syndrome.

Laney is survived by her parents, Jason McGowan and Tiffany Rowan, her siblings, Trey McGowan, Renee McGowan, Jayde McGowan, Abigail Rowan and Stella McGowan, her grandparents, Ed & Kathy Cooley of Sayville and Jim & Robin McGowan of Riverhead, her aunts and uncles, Shawn Miley and his wife Stephanie, Jimmy McGowan and his wife Sarah, Taylor McGowan, Kristina Palladino and her husband Joe, Ashley Vertucci and her husband Nick and Eddie Cooley and his wife Kaitie, as well as her many cousins and countless friends.

Friends and relatives will gather on Tuesday, December 16th and Wednesday, December 17th, 4-8 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 18th.  Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sayville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Laney’s memory to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, P.O. Box 3026, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034, are appreciated by her family.
