Kenneth W. Schaefer

Kenneth W. Schaefer, 79, of Sayville, LI, died on Sunday, April 24, 2022.  A lifelong resident of Long Island, Ken grew up in Islip Terrace and graduated from East Islip High School.  He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree at Dowling College and his Master’s Degree at Adelphi University.  Mr. Schaefer taught elementary school in Sayville School District for more than thirty years.  He was also a longtime volunteer with the Railroad Museum of Long Island and a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Schaefer is survived by his wife, Lynn (nee Brown), his four children, Nancy Wright and her husband Bill of Pennsylvania, Paul of Florida, Meghan of Bellport and Todd and his wife Susan of Maryland.  He has five grandchildren, Ben (Rosario), Ethan, Alex, Katie and Emily, as well as five siblings, June Tillotson, and Walter, Richard, William and Max Schaefer.
