Kenneth B. Knutsen, 73, of Islip, New York, called to eternal rest on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Raised in Oceanside, Ken graduated from Oceanside High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree at University at Buffalo and his Master’s at Stony Brook University. Ken worked as a Nursing Home Administrator, leading several institutions on Long Island including Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Bishop Sherman Nursing Home and Huntington Hills Center, before retiring in 2021. He was an active parishioner, vestry member and was currently serving as warden at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Islip. Ken was also an avid golfer; but his best times were working in the garden with his wife and playing with his grandchildren.
Mr. Knutsen is survived by his wife, Debora, his three daughters: Emily and her husband David; Evelyn and her husband David; and Kelsey and her husband Billy. As well as his six grandchildren: Arlo, Pennie, Dean, Gus, Holden and Linnea.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Ken’s life on Monday, April 14th at 11am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Islip.
