Julia A. Jacobsen, 86, of Riverhead, LI, died on January 9, 2025. A resident of Riverhead for nearly thirty years, Julia was in Lake Grove for many years prior. She was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sayville, where she was a longtime member and current treasurer of the Mary Martha Guild, a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of the Atlantic District and was the former Superintendent of their Sunday School. Julia was also an active member of the ladies group of the Glenwood Village Retirement Community and a volunteer at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.
Mrs. Jacobsen is survived by her daughter, Julia Ann Schildt and her husband William of East Yaphank, John Wright of Riverhead, her four grandchildren, Eric and his wife Michelle, Marissa, Jordan and her husband Brian, and Jessica and her husband Hector, five great-grandchildren, Kayden, Brantley, Jackson, Julia and Jacob, as well as her sister, Honey Pabst and her brother, William Schultz and his wife Denise. She is also survived by her cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Trygve and by her son, Thomas.
Friends and relatives will gather on Tuesday, January 14th at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sayville. A private cremation will follow.
