Judith A. Cleary, 84, of Sayville, N, died on Friday, April 4, 2025. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Judith moved to Sayville in 1967 where she raised her five children, along with her late husband Thomas. Mrs. Cleary taught for more than forty years; first in the NYC public school system and later out on Long Island, retiring from the Middle Country School District. She started SEPTA (Special Education PTA) at the Sayville School District and also started Special Education Religious Classes at St. Lawrence RC Church where she was a longtime active member.
Mrs. Cleary is survived by her five children, Anne Salvador and her husband Philip of Center Moriches, Mary of Sayville, Jeanne Monahan and her husband Eugene of Sayville, Thomas and his wife Margaret of Babylon and Nancy of Sayville, her seven grandchildren, Lauren, Sarah, Thomas, Eileen, Marnie, Katie and Anna, as well as her sister, Kathleen Donohoe and her husband Ned of Farmingdale.
Friends and relatives will gather Sunday, April 13th, 4-8 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 14th at 10:15 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church in Sayville and interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
