Joseph J. Voetter, Jr, 67, a resident of Bayport, NY for 46 years, died suddenly on Monday, November 14, 2022. Raised in Bay Shore, Joseph worked as a master electrician for more than thirty years with Local 25. He was also a very active member at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point where he served as head usher and was always there to do any handy work that needed to be done. Mr. Voetter was also a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and served as leader of Troop 130 and an avid Mets fan. More than anything, Joe was a family man and loved spending time with his four children and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Voetter is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maureen, his four children, Kate Lorber and her husband David of Setauket, Mary Covais and her husband Ron of Medford, Patty Aliperti and her husband Robert of Sayville and Joe of Ronkonkoma, his seven grandchildren, Julianna, Magnolia, Isaac, Shea, Sawyer, Bailey and Elena, his mother, Irene Voetter, as well as his siblings, Denise Paquet and her husband Rick of Rhode Island and Gary of Florida. He was predeceased by his sister, Susan.
Friends and relatives will gather on Sunday, November 20th, 4-7 p.m. and Monday, November 21st, 1-3 & 6-8:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in Bayport. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point and interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
