Joseph Segreto, age 74, of Blue Point, NY, and Venice, FL, passed away on December 26. Joe was born on November 15, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY. A devoted husband and father, Joe and his wife, Joanne raised their three children, Joe, Jennifer, and Joy in Oakdale, NY, and East Islip, NY.
Affectionately known as “Joe the Plumber,” he ran his own plumbing business for many years and was known as someone who could fix or build anything. A Corvette enthusiast, Joe was often found in the garage rebuilding an engine or working on his many projects. He enjoyed his traveling adventures with Joanne and good friends, spending time at the Sarasota clubhouse, and could often be found on the beach with a fishing pole in his hand. He especially cherished time spent on the boat relaxing and fishing with his family. Joe is survived by his wife, Joanne; his children, Joe (Kelly), Jennifer (Brad), and Joy (Nick), his sister Susan; and his seven beloved grandchildren, Sienna, Giuliana, Sammy, Ava, Celia, Leah, and Cole. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside service on Friday, January 2, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY 11735. Guests are also welcome to gather at Jennifer and Brad’s home following the service, or anytime between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
