Joseph John Fanning

Joseph John "Jay" Fanning, age 76, passed away on April 18, 2025 in Sayville, New York.  Born on February 8, 1949, in Glen Cove, New York.  Jay lived a life defined by dedication to his craft, deep love for his family, dear friend, and unwavering generosity.

Jay was known for the love he poured into his family.  He is survived by his devoted wife Marion, daughters Jacqueline, Jessica, and son Jason; and sisters Robin and Alison.  He also embraced the role of Pop Pop with immense pride and joy-- being called the "greatest Pop Pop" to Roma, Pari and Dev was among his most cherished honors. 

Jay began his career as a plumber in 1968.  Over the decades that followed, he built a reputation as a hardworking and skilled professional who earned respect of his peers through both his craftsmanship and his integrity.  His commitment to excellence and tireless work ethic left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Jay's warmth extended far beyond his family ties.  He was a loving presence in the lives of many and a great friend to those fortunate enough to know him.  His giving nature touched countless hearts and created bonds that will endure long after his passing.

May the memory of Joseph John "Jay" Fanning bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
