Joseph Dwinell Obituary

Joseph Edward Dwinell, age 91, longtime resident of Oakdale, NY and Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday January 9, 2026.

He is survived by his children Kerin, Colleen and Joseph, sons in-law Stephen, Pierce and daughter in law Michelle, grandchildren Katherine, Fiona and Arabella and loving niece Jackie Hurst and nephew Rodger O’Gara.

In 1958 he met Mary Sally, the love of his life, married on July 2, 1960, where they made their first family home in Levittown, Long Island, having three wonderful children, then moving to Oakdale, LongIsland. The family spent many happy summers with friends at Davis Park on Fire Island at the Dome House, with many fond memories on the Wild Turkey and on Sally’s Palace.

Sally & Joe eventually retired to Boca Raton, Florida where they spent many happy years together with friends and family until Sally’s passing on February 11, 2023.

Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 13th from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Highway West Sayville.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14th at St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish Catholic Church, 27 Handsome Ave, Sayville, NY 11782.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joseph Edward Dwinell may be made in support of Dr. Petrylak's work at Yale Cancer Center.
