John V. McAuliffe, age 87, resident of Islip died on March 21, 2025.
John was born to Irish immigrant parents in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Port Washington, New York. He lived in the Bayport-Blue Point area for over 50 years and proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1962. After the military, John worked as a manager at FoodTown in Roosevelt, New York. He spent his free time golfing and rooting for the Yankees. John will be remembered most of all as a lifelong Yankee fan.
John is survived by his children Teresa (TJ) Dennington, Michele Cassans, and Michael McAuliffe, his grandchildren Matthew, Melissa, and Max, his great-grandchildren Madison and William, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive visitors on Monday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Highway West Sayville. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
