John Anthony Cardona, 76, of Bayport, NY, passed away on September 26, 2024.
He was born in Queens, NY to Charles Cardona Sr. and Genevieve Cardona. Preceding him in death was his brother, Charles Cardona Jr. He is survived by his daughters Janine Zwingman (Ray) and Beth Komives (Jeffrey), granddaughter Shayla Zwingman, and grandsons Reed Zwingman and Lee Komives.
A talented violinist and beloved music teacher who retired from the Sachem school district, John shared his talent and passion for music with his students and community. His love for music was matched by his enthusiasm for Lionel trains and flying Cessnas. He was a man of many interests, always eager to share his hobbies with friends and family. Known for his warm heart and generous spirit, John was a wonderful father and a loyal friend to many.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication. His impact on the community and the lives he touched will be remembered fondly.
Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue, NY. Donations in memory of John may be made to Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts, PO Box 16, Bayport, NY 11705, or the American Cancer Society.
