Janet Perlman Kennedy, 89, a longtime resident of Sayville, New York, died on March 21, 2026. Raised in Uniondale, Janet graduated from Hempstead High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree at Suffolk County Community College. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and later as the Home Healthcare Nurse for both Suffolk County and the IRS. Janet was a member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Sayville for many years and was a member of the Order of the Daughters of the King.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her daughter, Margot Passalacqua of Blue Point, by her daughter-in-law, Quy Ayers of Alabama, her grandchildren, Janeen, Christopher, Sarah, Michael, Selina, James and Nicholas, her great-grandchildren, Shawn, Gabrielle, Emily, Salvatore, Kenny, Brynlee, Paisley, Mateo, Matthew, Chase and Evan, as well as by her brother, Jack Perlman. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Kennedy, and by her son, James Ayers.
Friends and relatives will gather on Wednesday, March 25th, 3-6 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A church service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26th at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Sayville and interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
