James A. Scheller, age 98, resident of West Sayville, died on December 14, 2025. James retired from the FDNY after 35 years of working for the department as a Chief Marine Engineer on the fire boats.
James is survived by his daughters Kathleen Grieco and her husband Anthony, Mary Soper and her husband Kent, his grandchildren Emily, Kennedy Broxmeyer (Noah), and Brant, his sister Sr. Rosaleen Scheller. James was predeceased by his beloved wife Dolores in 2010.
Family will receive visitors Thursday, December 18th from 4:00 – 8;00 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 19th10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church 240 Main Street Sayville. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.
