Henry R. Tomasofsky, age 59, resident of Oakdale died surrounded by family on July 26, 2025, after a sixteen month battle with cancer.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Lori; his daughters, Amanda Tomasofsky-Adelle and Nicole Tomasofsky; his son-in-law, Tyler; and his cherished grandchildren, Bryce and baby Adelle, expected in January. He was lovingly raised by Bernie and Raye Tomasosky, along with their children, Christina Ramirez and Michael Tomasosky. Henry is also remembered by many other family members. A friend to all, Henry left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Henry began working as a mechanic at just 15 years old and remained passionate about his craft throughout his life. He was an incredibly skilled and resourceful man—there was little he couldn’t do. Whether it was his lifelong friends or the close bonds he formed while working at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Henry considered them all family.
Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Eulogies will take place at 8 p.m. Private cremation to follow on Wednesday.
