Gregory J. Newman, a resident of Sayville since 1996, passed away on October 26, 2024. Born and raised in Lake Ronkonkoma, Greg graduated from Sachem High School. He was a volunteer with the Lake Ronkonkoma Fire Department and rode the ambulance. He worked in the food industry as a quality control manager for many years, retiring while working for Tate’s Cookies. He was a great athlete and most importantly a loving husband and devoted father.
Greg spent years raising his family in Sayville, coaching soccer, supporting his daughters in their athletic and music endeavors. He was blessed with amazing friendships with his neighbors and other parents within the community. Throughout his life he maintained everlasting friendships with childhood friends, and always prioritized his family above all else.
He took every moment to celebrate all special events and embraced every day to its fullest. Holidays were filled with large family gatherings which he loved to celebrate with his wife, children and many friends.
He embraced adventures and was always on the go, even on vacations. He enjoyed time with his wife and family going to theme parks, visiting other countries, and living life to the fullest. He loved running and staying active, and you could always find him in the gym.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Renee, his daughters Abigail, Jenna, and Sarah, and his siblings, Bobby and his wife Pat, Liz Newman, and Paul and his wife Kim. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Janet Newman, and his sister Kathy DeMurias.
