Gloria Beverly Vreeland, passed away on May 11, 2025. Born in New Haven, Connecticut to John and Angeline Sullivan, Gloria spent most of her childhood in Brooklyn. She married her husband William E, Vreeland in Brooklyn on July 11, 1954 and moved out to Long Island in 1968 where she found employment as a bookkeeper for Star Ready Mix for 20 plus years. After William passed away, Gloria briefly retired to Florida, but ultimately returned to her family to be a full time grandmother. Gloria fought through may battles, surviving two bouts of Cancer, knee and hip replacement, and was still driving her car well into her 80's, much to the dismay of the drivers around her.
She is survived by children Linda Joan (G. Brad McNinch), William Thomas (Maureen Lynch), Jacqueline (Frank Hornbeck), her grandchildren, William Jeremiah (VictoriaAnn Irace), Jennifer Elizabeth (James Field), Danielle, Adam, and Timothy Andrew Christopher, and her great grandchildren William Jeremiah, Jr., Gennaro Giuseppe, Evelyn Maureen Rose, and James Everett.
Visitation- Thursday May 15, 2025 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at our West Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St., W. Sayville
Funeral Mass- Friday May 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church, Sayville
Interment- Calverton National Cemetery
